Some Sad Statistics
Year 2000 Statistics from George Barna Research Group-a Christian research group
44% of born-again adults and 9% of born-again teenagers are certain of the existence of absolute moral truth
Only 8% of born-again adults tithe to their local church. 16% give no donation
40% of Christian churches are virtually impossible to reach by telephone
Only 44% of born-again teenagers claim that they are "absolutely committed to the Christian faith"
14% of 18-29 year olds consider themselves born-again
Born-again Christians spend seven times as much time on entertainment as they do on spiritual activities
Born-again Christians are more likely to experience a divorce than are non born-again adults (27% vs. 24%)
66% of all teenagers reject the existence of Satan, 60% reject the existence of the Holy Spirit, 50% believe that Jesus sinned during His lifetime: two-thirds of these teenagers say they know the basic teachings of the Christian faith
In a representative nationwide survey among born-again adults, none of the individuals interviewed said that the single, most important goal in their life is to be a committed follower of Jesus Christ.
If these statistics are accurate, that means of those reading these spiritual nuggets (I am assuming you are born-again) 92% of you are not tithing, 56% of you do not believe in absolute moral truth, and most of you spend a majority of your time on entertainment than on spiritual activities. I am hoping that because you have chosen to be on the spiritual nuggets list that you are tithing, that you believe in absolute moral truth, and that you are devoting your time to the kingdom of God. Please pray for revival and reformation for the Body of Christ.
To the world, you may just be somebody...but to somebody, you may be the world.
