Let’s just say I wish I had Covid so I could get my surgery while being a patient at the hospital. Yesterday left me beaten and battered as I was helped to my car losing all my dignity by bawling my eyes out and groaning in pain as I was surely passed by the turtle. I have learned a valuable lesson out of it all. When you are told the brace can be worn 24 hours that doesn’t mean you should wear it longer than two hours. Math that one out. If I was told I had the option to have 5 linemen from the Arkansas Razorbacks Team try and knock me off my feet, I think it would be an obvious no. But apparently, I said yes when I put on my hip brace yesterday. The pain from wearing it increased as each minute of the clock made its clockwise journey until minutes became hours and I became a ragged heap of a pitiful being. The good news? I look like a storm trooper when I wear the brace.

Where is God in all of this? He never left. I’m the one that keeps taking vacations to self-pityville as He sits back and lets me make a fool of myself. You’d think I would learn one of these days. He continually gets me through some of the roughest times and I still question His plan. Why not just trust Him and be obedient to what He has called me to do? “Everything that’s worth something takes effort.” The world seems to be imploding by the minute so I guess it is time to just listen and do what God is telling me to do before I get swallowed up in all the chaos. If you let me, I’ll just keep rambling on until something sticks. Sometimes, getting lost in the storms of life gives you the opportunity to float ashore renewed, your past forgotten and new days in front of you. Here I come Jack Sparrow! “Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate.” “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Time for some Heavenly Treasure. YO HO!
