No Flame, Little Pain
First Night

It is 9 pm. It has been 12 hours since I was admitted to the hospital for my surgery. I am down to level 5 pain in my hip and only level 2 in my back. God has been so merciful to me! I was excited last night and this morning as well as terrified. I’ve always ended up in level 10 pain and that is something I would not even wish on the terrorists trying to kill me in Iraq for both my deployments. Imagine what you believe hell is like and times that by 100 and you are starting to scratch the surface of level 10 pain. It is inhumane. I will say, God has never left my side and even in level 10 pain, there have been times when I was flooded with peace and the knowledge that “this too shall pass”. The only explanation is “a peace that passes understanding”. I still went through the hell the pain causes, but I felt Jesus going through it with me.
“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1b NASB

Goodnight and thank you to all who have prayed for me!
