No Flame, Little Pain

Headed to Surgery

I woke up in level 5 pain this morning with severe weakness. We had a two-hour drive to the hospital which increased my pain to level 6. Dad got a wheelchair (it took 20 minutes to get a wheelchair) and we got all checked in. They started a small dose of a sedative and then they did an epidural in my spine before surgery. I hugged my dad and fell asleep shortly after. My surgery was scheduled for 3 to 6 hours as the team did not know exactly what was causing the dislocations. Just under an hour in, the surgeon asked my father to join him in a private room even though my father had seen several doctors publicly tell other people how their loved one was doing. Walking into the room waiting for the doctor my father was extremely nervous asking God to help him deal with whatever the bad news may turn out to be. He was afraid that I had died on the table or that there is nothing the doctors can do in regards to my leg popping out.. Instead, great news! They only had to increase the ball by 4 mm, decrease the linking cup size and remove a small amount of bone. The doctor said it was a straightforward surgery and he feels it will be very successful in the long term. At the time I was in the recovery room with no flame and no pain. Of course, I am still knocked out.
