God is Still in Control

Joshua’s Latest Story

A year ago it looked like Joshua would just need hip surgery and then his life would be back to normal.

Joshua gets his hip surgery and in the summer of 2021 he goes out on the boat with me a couple of times, goes kayaking a couple of times, swims in the lake, even digs a ditch. He is doing all of this with great pain, but he’s able to still do it.

BUT-He then has his leg pop out four different times, so he needs another hip surgery. That’s fine, he will just get the hip surgery and he will be back to normal.

INSTEAD-Now a year later from his first hip surgery and having a second hip surgery he’s in worse shape than he was a year ago. He has no stamina, much pain, and can do very little.

BUT-In spite of the setbacks God is still on the throne in heaven and in Joshua’s life. Joshua still desires to give God glory and to to encourage and help others. He still does what he can to be of service to West Side Church.

GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL!

PS-Does Joshua and his family still get discouraged? Absolutely! Does Joshua get depressed? Absolutely! We are not shielded from disappointment, but we are strengthened while disappointed.
